Last of the Jump Jump Days

There are so many things about having triplets that you just don't think about. We had one pop up recently, and I'm embarrassed to say that this scenario hadn't really occurred to me. I was working in the studio the other day and Carrie was home with the boys. There was a prescription for Zane we needed to pick up. There was a lull in the action where I was, so I had some time to run and get Zane's medicine. On the way home I got a call from Carrie. Someone had rang the doorbell and then ran off. The reason that this was alarming is because of the recent smash and grab robberies that have been happening in and around Austin. These people ring your doorbell, wait for you to answer, and if you don't, they kick the door in, grab whatever they can and leave as quickly as they came. We do have a sign on our door that says, "Please do not ring the doorbell." This is because our dog Tess is very protective and barks if anyone rings the doorbell, which in turn wakes up three boys who are horrible at napping during the day. While this behavior is annoying at times, I have always appreciated how protective she is. If someone is in the front yard Tess goes nuts. I figured that a salesperson or whatever had rang the doorbell before they saw the sign, got freaked out and ran. I came up the street and saw a guy walking with a clip board. He looked like a door to door guy to me, so I stopped to talk to him.

Me: Hey, I see you are going door to door, did you ring the doorbell on that house up there with the Tahoe in the driveway?

Him: Umm....No, I didn't.

Me: Are you sure? My wife is home with our kids, and it freaked her out a bit.

Him: I didn't do anything.

Me: Well, who are you with?

Him: I'm with G.E.

Me: Can I see some identification or something?

Him: I don't have to show you anything.

Me: Fine, you can talk to the Police.

The areas around our neighborhood aren't the best, and I don't even mess around anymore. I just call the Police. The Austin Police are very quick to respond, and I have spoken to them at length about the problems in our neighborhood. They tell me to call when I see anything out of the ordinary. The Police came and dealt with him. Why he wouldn't show me any ID is pretty strange.

This whole little scenario brings up two things about the reality of having triplets. First of all, picking up a prescription wouldn't be a big deal for a lot of people. However, with three it becomes a real chore. How convenient is it to load up three babies in this contraption and go to a pharmacy?

It's not convenient at all. This is the boys' new stroller. The stroller itself weighs 70 pounds. Add around 65 pounds of triplet to the thing and it's pretty heavy. It makes what normally would be a quick trip to the pharmacy into something that could quite possibly turn into an Olympic Event. I can hear the play by play announcer now:

Announcer: We are here at the Triplet Moving Event at the Summer Olympics. Carrie has to get the stroller out of the back of the Tahoe, unfold it, and set the parking brake. Next, she has to get all three boys into the stroller. After that, it's into the pharmacy to get the prescription and back out to load everyone up again. Let's see if she can beat the four minute and 36 second record she set during the preliminaries. Hopefully this time she won't get into a fist fight with another customer in the pharmacy. That got her disqualified the last time and really cut into her time.

This whole day got me thinking about a lot of things. What if someone did attack the house when I wasn't at home? It would be impossible to pick up the three boys and run to the neighbors. What do you do in this situation? Call 911 for sure, but then what? I realize that a full frontal assault on our house is unlikely, but it gets you thinking about how absolutely helpless and venerable you are with three kids all at the same stage of helplessness.

In other news, the days of the Jump Jumps are over. We were down to using two, with one boy in a walker. Zane is our resident master of the walker. He goes everywhere with it. The other two are pretty good themselves, so we made the decision to get two more walkers and sell the jump jumps. No more Jumperoos. It's the end of an era.

That's right sports fans, these boys are now mobile. I'll look down and one of the boys will have crawled into the kitchen. One second they are in the middle of the living room, and the next second they are doing this:

Yep, checking out the outside world. We have taken some steps in child proofing the house, and more will be needed. We have already figured out how to get into the dog water. They also find each other very interesting.

Here are some various crawling around pictures. This one happens to be of Cade.

Here is Zane:

Zane again:

Here is one of Cash under a Jump Jump.

These next pictures are of the boys taking a nap. Top to bottom are Cade, Zane, and Cash.

Needless to say, they don't look very tired.

They would rather be moving around and destroying things than taking a nap. Makes sense to me. I was never much of a nap guy myself. We have passed a lot of milestones recently, and we will pass many more in the next six months. Walking comes to mind. A friend of mine recently told me this:

"You spend the two years teaching them how to walk and talk. After that you try to get them to sit down and shut up."

No matter the trials and tribulations, one things is true:

Having triplets is a blast.

Here is a video of Cade and Cash in their Jump Jumps. Oh the memories.

Cinco De Mayo

The boys celebrated their first Cinco De Mayo this past week. I find it amusing that in the United States, we take any excuse to drink that another culture may have, and adopt it as our own. I had to look it up, but Cinco De Mayo is mainly celebrated in the state of Puebla, in Mexico. The date is observed to commemorate the Mexican army's unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza SeguĂn. Yes, I copied that from Wikipedia. In the U.S., we use it as a day to celebrate Mexican culture, but mainly to get hammered. However, there is no "hammered" when you have triplets. The boys have no sympathy for a father who may have had one too many the night before. They still get up at 7:00 a.m., and they are very hungry and impatient. No matter what, you had better be on your game. They like their bottles, and they like their oatmeal, and the service better be snappy.

The boys have started doing quite a few things since the last blog. First of all, they are all holding up their own bottles. They can also hold themselves up while standing. Personally, I can not believe how big they are and how much they have grown. Here is a picture of Cash. We are happy to report that we had our second appointment with the neurosurgeon, and he thinks that Cash is just fine.

They thought he might have hydrocephalus, but after further examination, he just has a big head. The Doctor thinks he is going to be a rather large boy. Below you have Mr. Zane standing up in Cade's crib waiting for his turn to be taken to the chow line.

Carrie and I have been trying to give the boys individual attention whenever possible. Usually this entails taking just one baby to the store. Cash and Zane have both been taken to the store by themselves, but Cade's first solo trip to Wal-Mart was captured on video on my phone. As you will be able to hear if you turn up the audio, the cart had a messed up wheel. I know, that's odd for Wal-Mart. However, Cade thought this was the best thing in the world. The faster we went, the better he liked it. Don't worry, he is strapped into the cart using the Wal-Mart child safety strapping system that I'm sure was developed in a highly sophisticated lab in Arkansas after much research. As you can see, Cade is having a blast with the old man.

At the top of the page, you will notice that the boys have their Red Sox gear on. This is because they are really big Red Sox Fans. They love the Red Sox. We submitted this photo to the Red Sox "Fan of the Week" contest. I think we have a chance at winning. My good buddy Scott from Houston, Texas got the boys these shirts. Here is a shot of the back;

Here are some individual shots. This is Cash. He has something in his hand, which happens to be grass, but he must put it in his mouth. Doesn't matter what it is. Hey, he has no idea. It might taste good.

Next we have Cade. Here he is doing angry pouty lips. I wonder where he gets that.

Finally, we have Mr. Zane. It's amazing how different the three boys are. They are alike in many ways, but they each have their own way of going about things. It's going to be exciting to watch as they progress.

A couple weeks ago, we decided that we would take the boys out to dinner with us. This has been something that have avoided doing for reasons that should be obvious. For whatever reason, we decided that an excursion to the Austin Pizza Garden would be a good idea. We took Grandma along for an extra set of hands. We decided to leave the stroller in the car, so we just carried their car seats into the restaurant. The place was pretty full, and it's pretty loud, so we felt safe bringing our merry band in for some pizza. It's interesting to watch people as they realize that there are three of them. We each held a boy while we ordered and ate pizza. They boys like to slap whatever is in front of them and yell. Don't get me wrong, it's a joyful noise, but they get really excited and love to hear themselves. They get into contests in which they each try to slap the table and make more noise than their brother. All in all they did extremely well and we have to thank the staff at Austin Pizza Garden. They didn't even bat an eye when we walked in. Carrie grabbed my phone in order to take a picture of Cash taking his first bite of pizza. I didn't know that my phone had video capability. Carrie figured it out, and took this quick video of Cash and Cade trying pizza for the first time. The video isn't very good, but I thought it would be cool to show them the first time they ever tasted pizza. If they are like me, it will be a love affair that will continue throughout their lives. So here it is. It's really short and Cade gets mad, but whatever.

In other news, the boys love to take baths. They graduated to the big bath tub and they think it's pretty awesome to splash around. Giving baths is obviously a big production. They have more toys than they can possibly play with.

Oh yes, and as always....Tess was there too.

Things are pretty normal around here. The boys will turn 1 year old on June 2nd. On June 1st, Carrie and I will have been married for 2 years. Wow. What an amazing year it has been. The boys have grown out of their stroller and their car seats. It won't be long and they will be walking. I can't believe it. I often find myself just watching them, as they are crawling around on the floor trying to figure out how to break things, and I think how amazing it is that they are my kids. The list of different ways I can screw their lives up is endless.

Finally, here is a field of bluebonnets. In Texas, bluebonnets are big deal this time of year. Why? Because Texas is the best place on earth. This is God's Country and he kissed the landscape with bluebonnets. Every year, the bluebonnets bloom in the Texas Hill Country. The weather is perfect and all is right with the world. Here is a field of bluebonnets;

Here is a picture of some triplet boys who are not cooperating with Mom who is trying to take a picture of them in the field of bluebonnets.

That's it for now. Thanks for following along. The boys 1 year birthday will be quite an event I am sure.

NO!

Write it down. It happened. Carrie had to tell the boys "NO" for the first time. The first time it happened, I wasn't at home. She told me about it over the phone. For the record, we also have our first recipient of the word No. His name is Zane. What did Zane do? Well, as I may have mentioned, Zane is sort of our resident trouble maker. Tonight, he grabbed Cash by the hair and pulled him over. Then he proceeded to try and yank the hair out of Cash's head. This brought out my very first "No". I made a mental note of this monumental occasion. I am sure there are many more where that one came from. Understandably, Cash did not appreciate this show of aggression. He started screaming. I picked him up. Then Zane picked his next target which happened to be Cade. He tried to crawl over to Cade and push him over. Mom rescued Cade and Zane got another very emphatic NO from his Mother. With Cade and Cash safely in the arms of Mom and Dad, Zane had no one to pick on. He just crawled around and tried to knock things over. He laughs and laughs when you tell him no. He doesn't care. That reminds me of someone. Yep, I was always one to just do whatever and suffer the consequences later. Hopefully this behavior won't continue, but I have a feeling the odds are not in my favor.

This picture is from the birthday party of one Alexander Morgan. He turned three years old recently, and he is very tight with the triplets. He loves them and is very patient with them. The boys are in awe of Alexander. He is big. He can walk. He is kind of like Mom and Dad, but more like them. They just sit and stare at him. It's pretty cool.

Alex is the one standing on the bumper in the tan shorts with the fireman's hat on. You can pick out the triplets. When I found out that the birthday party was being held at a real live Fire Station I was awestruck.

What three year old boy wouldn't want his birthday party at a Fire Station? For that matter, what 37 year old man wouldn't want his birthday party at a Fire Station? I know I would. This party was awesome. All the kids got to sit up in the trucks and see all the cool fire equipment. The party took place right in the garage of the station.

Here is Cash sitting up in a real live fire truck.

This is Cade taking his turn.

Finally, we have Zane hanging out for a photo op.

In this one, Zane wanted to try on a helmet. He was really ready to fight some fire.

The Leander Fire Department is awesome for allowing kids to have their birthday parties at the station. What a great idea. When I asked the Fire Chief about it he said that the fire station belongs to the community, and when it's not in use, the community should be able to enjoy it.

Very cool.

In other news, we planted what could be considered a garden. Before I met Carrie, I had never really eaten vegetables. I liked meat, bread, and potatoes. This was obviously not a very healthy diet. Carrie got me eating several vegetables, and I was surprised to find out that I really like them. In an effort to set a good example, I have decided to completely change my diet. We want our boys to learn to eat right. We figure that they don't know any better, so it will be easy to start early. Besides that, I recently went to the Doctor and they said words to me like "blood pressure" and "cholesterol". Since I am a total hypochondriac, there is even more incentive to make a change. This week we planted seven tomato plants, some various other vegetables, and Carrie was finally able to utilize the plant hangers that I built a long time ago.

Sure, it's pretty small, but you have to start somewhere. Hopefully, this is just the first phase of what will be a glorious future for Team Krug. If this goes well, we can expand our garden and get the boys involved. Carrie is quite the gardener and seems to really enjoy it. She says that home grown tomatoes are the best, and so did one of my favorite song writers Guy Clark. I have never had one, but I'm looking forward to trying one of ours. I like ketchup and salsa, and they both have tomatoes, so how bad can it be?

Here is Guy Clark:

In less than two months, the boys will turn 1 year old. That's amazing. We already need new car seats and a stroller. These kids are going to need to get jobs.

Ten Months Old

The boys turned 10 months old this past Saturday, April 2nd. Mom and Dad celebrated by going to see the Red Sox play in Arlington against the Texas Rangers. The Rangers destroyed the Red Sox, and Dad wasn't happy, but they had a great time despite the loss.

I must admit, it is difficult being away from the boys. Carrie has a much harder time with it than I do. This was only the second night that we both spent away from them and at a whopping 180 miles it was also the furthest. When we are away, no matter what, the conversation always turns back to the boys.

Carrie's mother was kind enough to take care of them, and offer constant updates via Facebook and Text to keep our minds at ease.

What are they doing?

Well, they have figured out how to take off their diapers, so now this is happening.

How are they?

At ten months old we have several things going on. First of all, Zane has two teeth and the other two each have one. The teething hasn't really seemed to bother them much so far. If they throw a fit we just put some baby Orajel on there and they calm down.

The first time we had teeth problems one of the boys was screaming at the top of his lungs.

Mike: What's his deal?

Carrie: His teeth hurt.

Mike: Oh. I wish he would quit screaming.

Carrie: He will when they stop hurting.

Mike: Get some whiskey.

Carrie: We are not putting whiskey on their gums!

Mike: The whiskey is for me. They make other stuff for their gums. Why waste good whiskey on a kid that won't appreciate it?

Aside from a few isolated incidents, they have been pretty quiet with their teething.

In other news, I must say that things are happening very fast. They are all sitting up and moving around a lot more. Despite the fact that Zane is the smallest of the three, he has turned into our resident ass kicker. When we sit them on the mat to play, Zane takes great pleasure in knocking his brothers over, pulling their hair, tugging on their faces, and doing whatever he can to inflict pain. Reminds me of his Mom. Cash has learned the game too, but doesn't kick near as much ass as Zane. Cade is such a sweet boy and is usually on the receiving end of all this (but not always). This behavior has caused us to use the word "NO" with them for the first time, and believe it or not, they just don't get it. That or they just don't care. Tell Zane "NO" and he just smiles and laughs at you. All things considered, they really are turning into a lot of fun. They are especially happy when I get them up in the morning. For now, these boys really are morning people. They seem to be in the best mood at this time of the day.

People told us that you won't remember what life was like without your kids. I must say that this is very true. Carrie and I can not remember what we did before them. These little freeloaders just came in and took over the house and our whole lives. I'm sure we used to do things. I remember vaguely what it was like to be financially stable. I sort of remember what it was like to sleep past 6:30 a.m. Now, I can't sleep past that time. For instance, when we went to the game, we stayed at a hotel in Arlington. At 6:30 am we were both up. We tried our best to sleep in and take it easy, but at 8:30 am, we drove home to Austin. Neither one of could wait to see the boys. After all, we had been away for almost 24 hours.

Finally, I would like to say something about a certain life decision that Carrie and I recently made. It actually pretty much happened on April 1st. Coming to a decision like this on April Fool's Day is probably very telling, but it happened on that day. I should preface this by saying that this blog started out as a way to keep everyone informed about the triplet pregnancy. Then it became a way to help out other people who were expecting multiples. All along it allowed us to keep everyone informed and post pictures of the boys. Now, in my mind it has naturally become a pretty extensive online baby book. Because I am painfully slow, it recently occurred to me that the boys will one day read this and be able to know exactly what it is that we were going through and what was happening with them.

So, this next part is for the boys. I have a feeling that this decision will have a very big impact on their lives. Here it goes.

Dear Boys,

This is your father. I don't know how old you will be when you read this, but my guess is around age 4. We started reading to you recently, and I'm pretty sure you will have the hang of it soon.
If not, don't worry, I'm way older than you and I can't do math. On to the point. I would like to tell all of you that as of April 1st, 2011 I stopped looking for a job. I know what you are thinking. "Great Dad! You must have found a job." Not so fast. I did find a couple of opportunities, but they didn't make any sense. See, here in 2011, we have this recession going on. There are not a lot of jobs out there available to anyone, let alone for a guitar player turned triplet father. This is why your mother and I have decided to start our own business. Yes, the field is the music business, but what did you expect? That's what I have spent the last 20 years doing. I know how to play the guitar, and I have spent my whole life in the music business. It's time for me to take all I have learned and apply it to doing our own thing. We are doing this for several reasons. First of all, I was going to have to start at the bottom with every other company, so why not just start at the bottom with our own company. I want you boys to know one thing:

It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.

Yes, I'm sure it is going to be rough going, especially at first. We have several things going for us. First of all, your mother is very smart. Second, I'm smart enough to listen to her. This business will allow us to work from home, where you happen to spend all of your time, so that makes it convenient. By now you are painfully aware that music is what we know here at the Krug Ranch. It's how I met your mother. It's what our friends do. It's pretty much who we are. I have always been my own boss, and I don't know why I thought I could work for anyone else. Both your Grandpa Krug and your Grandpa Creasey work for themselves, so I guess it runs in the family.

Well that's it. I wanted you to be aware of when and why this decision took place. I'm sure that everything turned out great, because your mother and I refuse to quit until we win. Your mother and I love you very much and we couldn't be happier that you are here.

Love,

Dad

P.S. At this very moment you are all screaming. Just wait until you are teenagers. Paybacks are a bitch.

Finally, we have a video of the boys playing on their mat. This is what they do right now. It's not very exciting, there is no plot, and we didn't edit it at all. Zane spits up and Cash and Cade fall over. That's about the size of it, but we know there are a lot of family members out there that would like to see it....

The Ides of March

Yes, it has been a while since we've had any updates here at Rollin' For Trips. As you may have guessed, things have been extremely busy around here.

Everyone always said to us, "Wait until they are moving!"

Well, they are moving. They sort of get on all fours and do this lunge/crawl thing while they make a lot of noise. They are pretty good at sitting up, Zane happens to be the best at it for some reason. They have a mat that they like to crawl around on, and it is extremely amusing to watch them interact.

Let's get right to some pictures, because I know that's what you came for.

Here are the boys in their Kansas State University Wildcat Pajamas. They really get behind the Wildcats. They understand that the University of Kansas is an evil place and that the colors Red and Blue are ugly.

This is one from back in February when my brother Jason and his wife Sara came down for a visit. They are still eating four times a day, and we have moved them onto more solid food and are starting to cut down on the formula. The formula days are about over and this freaks me out.

Here is one of them on the couch around the same time. Cash and Zane are the two with the curly hair. Cade's hair remains straight as an arrow. We are getting to know them and what to expect from each of them. Generally, Zane is extremely happy. He loves to sing and he is very content. Cade on the other hand will generally be the one that is the most pissed off. Cash goes either way. In this picture they are very happy...for a second.

These next pictures are from the last two days. Carrie is getting quite good with her camera. Recently, Cade discovered that he had a tongue. He sticks it out all the time

Lately, we have been moving their jump jumps outside. It's been really nice here, and the boys really seem to like hanging out outside and listening to music. We play them a wide variety of stuff. Yesterday we listened to The Mavericks and George Jones. This is Cash. He is wearing a Boston Red Sox Shirt. You can't tell because he has to have a bib on to keep it from getting soaking wet in five minutes.

This is Cade with Uncle Joe. He plays in Back Porch Mary with Dad. Joe is an extremely good Nanny. He helps with the kids and helps Dad drink beer. It's a win win for everyone.

I personally think that Zane is going to be a Doctor. He has a very good bed side manner and shows great concern for his patient.

Here is one of Zane singing along with George Jones. Zane has a great deal of respect for Genuine Country Music. He understand the roots of the music and knows that George Jones is perhaps the finest country singer that has ever sang a note.

Here are the boys yesterday. Much to the chagrin of their mother, they really got dirty yesterday.

This is the latest fun thing. Playing with toys on the mat. It generally involves trying to take the toy from your brother. The toy your brother has is always better than the one you have. This is Zane sitting up and Cade laying down. These pictures were taken just a few short minutes ago after breakfast and before the mandatory morning nap.

As I mentioned, Zane is the best at sitting up on his own for the longest period of time. I always say to the other two, "Why can't you be more like Zane?" Well, if you triplets are reading this someday in the future, know that Zane was first.

Here is our Cash Buddy again. We had a bit of a scare with him this week. We went to their 9 month check-up, and Cash's head had grown quite a bit between the 6 and 9 month visit. The Doctor was concerned enough that she ordered an ultrasound done through his soft spot to see if there was any trouble. Turns out, Cash has a bit of excess water outside of his brain. This condition is called benign external hydrocephalus. Carrie and I were petrified. They referred us to a neurosurgeon. We went to that appointment on Thursday, and he gave us some great news. He saw the water on the ultrasound, but says this is normal for kids that have large heads. Turns out, Carrie's entire family on both sides are known for their extremely large melons. The excess water is usually absorbed by the time the child is 18 months. We are going to keep monitoring the situation just to make sure, but the Doctor said he is developing normally and he wasn't concerned. We are very thankful for our healthy boys.

There are big changes for the Krug Family on the horizon. The boys are almost 1 year old and we can't believe it. They are getting so big and growing up so fast it's scary. We will try to keep you up to date. We really want to make a new video for Trip T.V., so we'll work on that.

Finally, here is a big THANK YOU to everyone that voted for us in the photo contest. I am proud to announce, and Carrie is even prouder, that we WON. Yep, we won hands down. You people really pulled it out. That means that Mollie Kendall is going to be taking the boys one year pictures. I bet we post them right here.

The Ringleader

They said the personalities of our boys would start to show through around the 7 or 8 month mark. I have to say without a doubt that this is the case. They have discovered their voices. At times, this can be amusing. At other times you scan the house for something to stab into your ears in order to make the noise stop. There is a list of things that they like to do. Let's take a look.

1. Slap Things - Slapping things is fun. It can be the "jump-jump", it can be the tray on their high chair. It can be their brother or the dog. It doesn't matter. Slapping makes a cool noise. Also, if you slap something and yell at the same time, you can make more noise. If you get a brother or two involved, you can make three times the noise. Let's make sure Dad can't hear the television.

2. Lick things - If you can reach something you can lick it. This can be the side of your car seat, your bib, the side of your bottle, or my favorite, your brother's head. Cade gave Zane a strange hair style the other day when he licked the top of his head for a while.

3. Get Licked - The Tess Dog loves the boys. When they are in their jump jumps, she goes from boy to boy licking the face of each one. What do you do when a dog is licking you? Naturally, you OPEN YOUR MOUTH. This allows the dog to lick the INSIDE OF YOUR MOUTH. This grosses out your mother, which may be why you are doing it in the first place.

4. Steal Toys - Oh yes. The other day I put Zane and Cade on the couch, each with his own toy. I went to get Cash, and as soon as I came back I noticed that Zane had STOLEN Cade's toy. He wasn't playing with it. No, he simply took it from Cade and placed it on the other side of him so Cade could not reach it.

5. Pull, Scratch, and Tug - Pull Mom's hair. Scratch Dad's face. Tug on Mom and Dad's lips and nose. Pull the glasses off of Mom's face.

All of these things are exciting to one degree or another. Another thing we have discovered is the "RINGLEADER" phenomenon. For example, this morning at 6:00 a.m., I hear one baby start to scream. Then another joined in. I ran into their room and picked up Cade because he is the one closest to the door. I picked him up and he stopped crying. About five seconds later, Cash stopped crying too. What is this madness? I looked at Cash. He was staring up at me. Carrie actually discovered this. If one starts to scream, one or both of the others will start. If you can get the first one to stop, the other two will generally stop as well. I have to say that one baby is emerging as the ringleader. Mr. Cade Richard Krug is generally the instigator of the screaming sessions. Don't get me wrong, they are all capable of going insane, but Cade seems to be the ringleader more often than not.

Look at him.

He even looks like he is folding his hands. What a little angel? I'm not so sure. I think in this photo he is wringing his hands and coming up with some scheme to make sure no one gets any sleep.

Speaking of sleep, I used to have a bed without three other guys in it.

This is not the case anymore. It's still early, but at this moment this is how I size them up.

Cade Richard - Emerging as the potential ringleader. He instigates a lot of yelling and is generally the first one up. We're in for real trouble with this one. He reminds me of me. I don't know if we are going to get along. He's going to have to learn that there is only one boss in this house and that's his mother.

Zane Chad - He is a very sweet boy. Seems a bit more quiet than the other two. The last to start yelling. This morning when his brothers got up so early and decided to scream bloody murder, I had to wake Zane up in order to feed him with his brothers. He had that look of confusion that said "Hey, it's not 7:00 yet. What's the big idea?" Although he is sneaky. Remember the whole stealing Cade's toys. I think Zane might be the first to sneak out of the house.

Cash Dean - He can go either way. Cade can easily drag Cash into whatever shenanigans he might be up to. He can also go along with Zane and be pretty quiet. He is very into whatever I'm doing, which only spells trouble for him. He needs to steer clear of Dad's path in life.

Last night was my night to stay home and take care of the boys. I thought it was going to be awesome. I cooked some wild game venison hot dogs my brother sent me. I was going to practice guitar all night and drink good beer.

I put the boys to bed at 8:00 p.m. and the night was all mine.

I was in bed by 8:30 p.m.

Being Fair

Greetings from Austin, Texas! It's another fun filled day in the land of triplets. First and foremost, we are trying to win a contest and we need your help. Mollie Kendall is a really good photographer from here in Austin, and she is running a photo contest on her Facebook Page. Naturally, we entered a picture of the boys that Carrie took here at the house.

To Vote you need to do four things.

1. Have a Facebook Account

2. Go To Mollie Kendall Photography on Facebook which is right here: Mollie Kendall Photography

3. Click on "LIKE" You must "LIKE" the Mollie Kendall Photography Page First.

4. After you do that, go to this link, which is the link to our photo and click "LIKE": Krug Triplets

That's it. It's a straight up popularity contest, and we want to win. If we win, we get a free photo session with Mollie and free photos. It's all about winning, and Carrie and I are very competitive. There is no way we can lose with our people behind us.

After you do this, post this link on your own Facebook page and encourage your friends to vote for us also.

Diaper Derby Contest

We thank you for your vote. The thing is, right now we are almost 100 votes behind the leader. They got off to a fast start when the contest started yesterday. I know that my people won't let me down. They can't beat us. Period.

What's been going on around here? Well, mainly it's all about feeling guilty about which boy is getting the most attention. At least for me anyway. I always worry about how much time I spend with each one. Say I'm holding one on the couch and another boy is in his jump jump and Carrie has the other. Well, the boy in his jump jump starts looking forlornly at me. I then feel all guilty and try to hold two at a time. Or, in the morning I try to rotate who gets up first and who gets their bottle first ect ect. It's tough, because you always think that one baby is probably feeling like he is getting the shaft. I also feel guilty that the dog is lonely. I guess this is just how my life is going to pan out. A feeling of constant guilt that someone is not getting enough of my attention.

The boys are doing more and more things everyday which makes it fun. They are grabbing at things and smacking things, including each other. The other day I was feeding the boys green beans. Carrie makes her own baby food and she tried green beans. Well, they ate them, because they will eat anything that doesn't eat them first, but you could tell they weren't big green bean fans. As I was spoon feeding cash, he jumped up in his chair and knocked the jar of green beans out of my hand and onto the floor. He then settled back into his chair and looked at me like, "What do you think of that?".

Here in Austin, the weather has been pretty strange. One day we were back down at Town Lake and this was happening.

Oops. I forgot Tess. She was there too.

This was Austin, Texas on that day. Here is a photo I snapped looking into town from the South. It was around 75 degrees and as you can see there wasn't a cloud in the sky. What a beautiful day.

The very next day this photo was taken by a guy named Stanford E. Moore. I think this photo is absolutely beautiful. This was taken looking west from some building downtown, I believe from the angle that it may have been the Holiday Inn Town Lake right beside the lake. I'm not sure where it was taken from, but we were down to around 15 degrees that day. It NEVER gets that cold here, but it sure made for an excellent photo.

This made things interesting around the house. Carrie took this photo right outside our front door.

Oops. I forgot. Tess was there too.

That's snow. That's snow in Austin, Texas. That's not normal. What to do? Well, for one thing, you can hang out on the mat and flop around while staring and yelling at your brothers.

This passes a little bit of time. If you are really brave you can head off the mat like little Cash here has decided to do. He is pretty impressed with himself.

Apparently, it's always fun to be a slobber bucket. The boys are in some stage of teething. We can't decide. They don't have any teeth yet, but they are always drooling. It's a constant battle to keep clothes dry. They think it's funny, and now they have taken up spitting. This is Cade.

They also all have bib overalls. They are pretty pumped about this. Dressing them up is like putting clothes on a monkey, but they look pretty cool when it's all done. It takes me quite a while to get them ready. Carrie is a lot faster at it. They just laugh at me and kick their legs when I'm trying to put their pants on. They think it's funny to watch the old man struggle. Well, I guarantee you that the old man is going to have the last laugh when I'm watching them struggle to mow the lawn using only scissors. Paybacks are hell boys. By the way, wait until one of you is hanging out with a girl at the house. I'm going to be in the other room screaming bloody murder.

Usually she is behind the camera, but every now and then I talk her into a photo with her boys. Here is a really good one of Carrie and her lumberjacks.

Anyway, please go vote in the contest. Carrie will not be defeated. Period. We CANNOT LOSE! Please help. We realize there are two wars going on and a lot of starving people in the world, but this cause is worthy of your best efforts. Thank You!

P.S. See I wasn't fair. You got Cash and Cade by themselves. What about little boy Zane? Well, here is.

Oops. Tess likes Zane too.
